Cet apport peut se faire par l\u2019alimentation habituelle, mais il est quantitativement insuffisant pour la pr\u00e9vention du spina-bifida ; un compl\u00e9ment vitaminique d\u2019acide folique est donc indispensable pour les femmes souhaitant entamer une grossesse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La litt\u00e9rature indique qu\u2019une alimentation saine et normale apporte 217 mcg de folates par jour. \u00c0 titre pr\u00e9ventif, un apport d\u2019au moins 400 \u00e0 800 mcg par jour est recommand\u00e9, et ce jusqu\u2019\u00e0 14 jours apr\u00e8s la conception.<br\/>Il est donc n\u00e9cessaire d\u2019informer votre m\u00e9decin traitant d\u00e8s que vous envisagez une grossesse et de prendre un suppl\u00e9ment d\u2019acide folique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En ce qui concerne les \u00e9ventuels effets n\u00e9gatifs de l\u2019apport en acide folique, la recherche scientifique est encore en plein d\u00e9veloppement.
